Exhaust Noise, For Spuron
Spuron,
I have had excessive exhaust noise after a top end rebuild (my first one). I used the paper thin gasket that arrived with the top end rebuild kit. My cart sounded like a dirt bike and I was not popular on the golf course. After a day or so I took a look and the paper thin "new gasket" had blown out. I retrieved the old exhaust flange gasket fro the trash and it was 3/16" - 1/4" in thickness and reinforced. I put it back in and the problem was solved. By the way, especially for those south of the 49th, the two new cylinders I purchased over the past 5 years both had METRIC EXHAUST STUDS and nuts. Size is M8 X 1.25. |
