Default fuel pump diaphram

I'll be replacing the fuel pump diaphram on my 1976 model d harley golf cart.Can I just loosen the starter and move it to get to the carb.Any tips on this project would be welcomed.thanks

I would just buy an import carburetor off eBay. They run about $20 delivered and bolt right on. Ain`t worth rebuilding for that deal!

Yep. What he said.

That starter takes all of 2 mins to take off. No sense in working around it.

Your carb gaskets are going to need replaced too. Order those or get some gasket material from a parts store so you can cut them yourself.

When I have had to work on the carbs I have had to unbolt and flip the starter out of the way.

If the fuel pump section is bad chances are good the rest is bad too so I would do a full kit. I don't know that I would try and do one while still mounted in a cart. There are a few aspects that can be a little tricky on the bench that I think would be worse in the cart.

The cheap import carbs can be hit and miss quality wise so don't use one to troubleshoot a problem.
