Default harley generator

I have a 1967 harley-amf three wheel gas golf cart.I'm looking for a generator for my cart.I've seen them on e-bay for 240.00 dollars.Does anyone know of other sites where I could find a generator a little cheaper.

If you have a local shop that rebuilds alternators try there.

Those starter / gens were interchangeable from 1967 - 1995 (note that HD changed to Columbia in the mid 80s but they were still mostly the same cart).

I see all kinds of them out there for $100 less than what you are looking at. Google Harley Starter Generator Hitachi and you'll get a ton of hits.

HD started using Hitachi S/Gs in the late 70s (as did most other cart brands). They can be used on earlier carts.

Most of these generators are fine after a bearing and brush replacement along with cleaning. They are pretty over built. Club car uses the same exact one for their work carts.

First when I remove the generator I mark the terminals to the corresponding wires which helps with reinstall. disassemble, clean, replace brushes and bearing. They are very simple.
