1974 D Coil Questions
Hello;
I have a suspect bad coil and am searching for the correct Harley coil part number so that I can check it properly with a Graham-Lee tester. I have tested it with a ohmeter, and when testing the two primary terminals it showed 0 (full right) when the Harley book says should be lower. Thanks |

Re: 1974 D Coil Questions
The OEM part number is 31601-63A. I am pretty sure you can ignore the "63A" for sourcing.
To be honest, pretty much any coil should work on that. You should be getting about 1.5 ohm resistance when measuring between the small terminals though. 0 resistance will cause your points to burn up fast. |
