Default Is this a HD rear axle?

Hey all, not working on a golf cart, but a "Turnpike" ride car that I was able to find in the weeds several years ago. This particular car was new in '66 so everything on it is from around that era.

Having a good time figuring out where all the parts came from (willy's spindles, fairlane brakes, etc.)

Anyhow, I have no idea where the rear axle is from and the ring and pinion are destroyed. Closest I could find is the Harley cart that has a similar diff cover.

Any insight would be helpful, and if anyone knows where I can find a ring and pinion, I would be beyond delighted. Anyhow, here's some pics.

for whatever reason I cant see the pics but I read some where there was speculation that the Harley Cart diffs were basically the old Crosley car rear ends. It is a dana/spicer rear in the Harley. Scan ebay for 63-68? Harley rear parts and compare the internals and part numbers on the gears.

Fixed the pics, I hope. I'm terrible with photos ever since google shut Picasa down.

I was able to find a ring and pinion on ebay, but the pinion doesn't match. Was hoping the Harley pinion setup was what I was looking for. Been cruising ebay but haven't see anything to confirm. I'd be all over it.

ring and pinion for the Harley had some differences. 63-68? had a more centered "pumkin"axle with a gearbox. 68?+Harley? was off set and the engine ran backwards

I would contact the Dana Corporation and run the numbers by them. If the parts are available that's were you'd get them and at the same time they might be able to tell you who and where it was used.

I'm not so much interested if it's a 1:1 drop in, I have the axle apart and the rest looks rebuildable. I know its a dana with a 5.17:1 ratio 31:6. What i'm really interested in is if the input matches the HD setup with the splined shaft and the threads at the end. I've yet to find a pic of the Crosley, but the Cushman setup is slightly different and wouldn't work as i'd have nothing to hold everything on.

From what I've read in the service manual, HD used a similar rear, but switched around '71?

For a little more backstory, a drum brake backing plate bolts on to the input side and there's essentially a brake drum with a pulley on it acting as a belt driven input. The drum is bolted to a hub which slips onto the input shaft and is bolted from the front. Really a terrible design as every time you'd do brake work you'd loosen the pinion and would essentially create a new wear spot in the gears unless you re-torqued everything perfectly.
