1973 cart
What is the best way to know if the battery is getting charged when running the cart it ssems like after a day of driving the battery is dead once put on charger it works ok Thanks

Get a set of test jumpers and a volt ohm meter $10 to $100 hook them up and see what voltage you have.

The way I check for charging rate is to: Jack up one rear wheel, Fix a volt meter across the battery, the meter should read 12 volts. Start the engine and rev it up and the meter reading should increase to around 14 to 14 volts. If the meter reading does not increase the battery is not charging.

ok did that and like you said the battery stayed the same so is there away to determin where it is not chargeing easy

Yes there is! Download the service manual at
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/columbia-parcars/ Look in the electrical section and check the procedure under your cart year. |

I think the engines are 9 to 11 HP but I am not sure. They are very good runners when set up without the governor.

The G1 can be 2 to 5 MPH faster than the Harley Probably due to later technology. Both are excellent machines!
