Best oil/spark plug
Any advice on the best oil to use for 68 old girl? Also, anyone using NGK for a spark plug? If so what's the number? Thanks

Re: Best oil/spark plug
Contact tew45! He has a lot of helpful info!
As far as the spark goes it depends on if you have the high compression head or the low compression head. 2 diffenrt plugs. The high compression uses a longer reach plug as i rember then the low compression. If you put the wrong plug in, you will put the plug through your piston! |

Re: Best oil/spark plug
I have a high compression head with lots of pittings . Love the way the synthic oil smells. Castrol 927 smells like poor awesomeness! My 2 cycle jetski loves the stuff!

Re: Best oil/spark plug
I use a NGK BP5ES which is a 3/4 inch reach plug. It is for a 1971 to 1 1981 HD Cart.
For your cart use a NGK 5HS which is a 1/2 inch reach for a 1963 to a 1970 HD cart. Be sure what reach plug you need. The head may not be original to the cart. I use Wal-Wart outboard oil rated TC-W3. You can use any 2 cycle oil rated TC-W3 and be perfectly safe. |

Re: Best oil/spark plug
Check the web for there are more good articles. There is one on the TC-w3 qualification procedure. Also remember the HD engine is not a high performance engine like the Rotax which is used in experimental aircraft.

My parts store did not have the NGK!! They did have a cross reference for a Motorcraft plug that is suppose to be the same as the NGK!! Hope I made the right choice going with the Motorcraft. |

Re: Best oil/spark plug
So do you want to use a tcw3 oil or a regular for air cooled engines in a HD golf cart 1.5 oz per gallon?
