1981 vapor lock issues
The have a 1981 ezgo golf cart that will run about a mile and start to sputter and quit. I will blow into the gas tank and turn the key and it will run fine again. I ran the cart with the cap loose, vented the gas cap, ran the cart without a cap and it still quits. I can see the filter is not holding the fuel. Could the pump be bad? It almost feels like it is losing prime once the gas starts to flow.
I am wondering if there is something that I am not doing. Does anyone have a solution to my problem. Thanks. |

Re: 1981 vapor lock issues
Start with a compression test 85psi or better. Next inspect the plug should be a light brown. Check the engine timing by making sure the timing lines, line up. Now that the simple stuff is complete, pull the carb and clean it up with carb clean might want to rebuild the fuel pump very simple. Kit is around 20 bucks. Last make sure your low end jet is 1/2 too 2 turns out. Now if all this does not fix the issue post results and we will get serous
