Default 1960's HD cart

I found an early 60's Harley Davidson three wheel cart. The body is in decent condition and it runs. It doesn't have much power in forward, reverse has decent power but not the best. Is it worth $300. or should I leave it alone?

Yes going to need todo a compression test. If you like fixing things and want to impress the girls. Then the cart is for you!!

The Harley cart is a good way to go for an older cart if you just want a very good ride. 300 may or not be a good price. Depending on looks and running gear condition. I have a 1976 model and have $600.00 invested in it. Doesn't look very good but is mechanically excellent.

If its a pre-1967, it has a transmission instead of a foward reverse switch. That can be a real challenge to find parts.

The serial number is 3B11869H4. I think it is a 1974 model. I went ahead and bought it for $250. Needs some work but I think it will be a good project. I will post some pics later. Any suggestions are welcome.

check the compression with a gauge! if you have under 80 psi, time for new rings! i found out the hard way, new carb, pulled head and never even checked compression till it would not start! ugh!

So here's the pics. It needs some TLC and an accelerator cable, battery, tune up, clean up, seats and who knows what else...should be fun though.

Can you post pics of your engines? Mine is a 1974 D and some of the parts have been changed out from factory, I want to try and get it back to original if possible. The carb has been changed and I think some of the parts are missing. Cables and tune up kit is ordered, maybe will be running in a couple days. Any help is greatly appreciated.
