Default Forward / Reverse Switch

My 1974 Harley has been sitting for a few months without running. Today I couldnt get it to do anything. Had good battery and such but wouldnt make a sound, when I checked the forward / reverse switch it fell to pieces...how can I do to fix this?

micro switch behind the gass pedal could be a issue to. when you hit the gas, do you here the power soliniod click? also are your battery contacts good and clean? poor contacts, or dirty contacts act up too.

Thats going to be the f/r switch on the floor. not the key switch. I know someone that has a few switches he'd part with.
