HD with 0 power, won't turn over, etc
Howdy,
Working on this to help out a friend and I'm stumped. I'm sure it's something simple and I am just not seeing it. He was riding it in reverse, stopped, went in FWD, and nothing. Dead in the water. No power, no solenoid click, nothing. I jumped the key switch, and gas pedal microswitch to rule those out. Nothing still. Fresh battery too. Help? Thank you all very much! |

hmmm thats very odd...I would try running a ground wire from the negative small post of the solenoid to the battery negative and try that next...

Check voltage to the starter. Sounds like the Forward/Reverse switch has failed and is not sending voltage to the starter.

Re: HD with 0 power, won't turn over, etc
Thanks for the replies.
Grounding the solenoid to the battery gave the engine life. Hooking the ground up directly does nothing, kills the system. I tried grounding the solenoid on the frame and had 0 luck. No clicks, nothing. I tested the SG and it turned fine with direct power. I have 0 solenoid click currently, so I would assume I need to start there before getting into the F&R switch correct? Where else can I ground this small terminal from the solenoid? |

I would see if you are getting power to the F/R switch and if you are check for power after the F/R switch. If it is not getting to the F/R switch then check backwards to the battery. Check for 12 volts that operates the solenoid also. Check the circuit breaker, that has been a problem before and it kills all power to the cart.
