Best lubricant for Taylor-Dunn EM master control switch?
Well, its been awhile, but I am happy to say that my cart is up and running, at times. Will get some restoration process images up ASAP.
Currently I am rebuilding the master control switch, and could not find anything that reliably said what type of grease/lubricant would be best for the contacts and whole assembly. Was thinking high temperature grease, but then started second guessing that, so thought it best to ask. Any suggestions? |

Synthetic grease or dielectric grease would be fine. If you need High temp you got a problem already, lol. The contacts in a rotary F&R should not exceed 140 degrees in my experience.

Re: Best lubricant for Taylor-Dunn EM master control switch?
Scotty,
Appreciate the suggestion. This brought up another, unforeseen issue: I can find no form of synthetic (or dielectric) grease locally. This seems ludicrous, but after searching online, phone calls, and 3 or 4 trips to a store, it seems to be the case. So... since I had the high-temp grease on hand, I went ahead with it. The synthetic/dielectric you suggested would be preferred, but will there be any problem with the high-temp I've used? Just thought I'd ask. Ray~ |
