Default 1977 harley cart need help!!

Ok heres the deal cart was running great backfired every once in awhile. Then i did a compression test it was bad so i rebuilt the engine bored it .30 over piston is turned correctly for the exhaust port. Still nothing I have since then replaced the spark plug and found the timing was way off according to the book so i rotated the plate so that the mark lined up with factory timing marks and re gaped points to .022 new points, condenser, spark plug, coil, fuel filter, fuel line even changed line inside tank carburetor is pulling fuel. new reed valve. Does anyone have any ideals as to why this isnt running like i said before it ran great.

I was recently having some issues with my 1974 Harley gas golf cart. When you press the gas pedal does that start it? If not I can help with some electrial issues that I experinced recently. Besides that I suck with the engines I'm having issues myself. I'm no expert by far but I am willing to help.

I got nothing really. Only thing I can think of that you didn't mention is sometimes the mufflers can get really clogged. I've read that can cause problems with the engine and you actually have to cook them on a fire to get rid of the clog.

I have a question for you if you got the time.I ran the cart yesterday about 15mph and it was going fine. The cart started running bad so I checked the gas it was pretty low so I filled it up. It never started running good again and now only jerks foward on occasion. I checked the spark plug and the end was pretty black? not sure what that means...On a side note my carts back wheels spin when the belt is on and I push it. Thats not normal right? Could I have a belt issue?

If i read the question right the back wheels spinning while belt is on and being pushed is normal. it sounds like you might have started to foul your spark plug does the black on the plug look to be glazed google search images fouled plug for 2 stroke engines. either that or its a gas issue have you went through the carburetor if so is it timed per the book.
