Ran perfect but now won't go
In an earlier post I mentioned that changing the points and condenser fixed my issue of the cart running rough, it was running perfect but now a week or so later I went to move the cart and it won't run. It will just putt forward and reverse, won't take off even with choke. Choke cable is operating fine, it is new. I also have fuel leaking out of the motor at the exhaust.
Help please. |

Well figured it out, one of the connections on the points were too close to the cover plate so I lost spark completely. I bent the tab inward so it wouldn't be as close. I also noticed my spark plug wire was not making good contact at the coil, kept slipping off a bit so I put a replacement plug wire on. Runs good again.
The new plug wire is stainless steel and the old one was copper, that shouldn't make a difference should it? |
