Angry HD 1972 Gas

this cart runs good in reverse not in forward spits and sputters .I have replaced crank seals, points and condenser and coil, compression is 100 psi fwd 110 psi rev. carb kit installed, reed plate is ok ,new spark plug. im out of ideas can any body help??? if my mechanic installed seals wrong I would not think it would run at all. he was certain they were in right also moved points plate for diff timing no change . im out of ideas can any body help??? Thanks for any help

i have moved timing all over center, advanced, retarded no real change. this one has me stumped and i have worked on carts for a lot of years including harleys most of them i can get running great i hate to do a top end and still have same problem thanks for your comments

Cheap quality points can cause this as well as the condition of the cam that actuates them.

Had a similar problem. I saw an arching from the points to the engine case. I could not get a good timing. So I added and additional condenser to the terminal on the coil. I had read about adding an additional condenser not hurting the (firing)system. Seems that trick worked.

Not sure how to test them or how they are rated. Perhaps another member can add more info about this part.
