accelerater micro switch help??

got a 75 Harley three wheeler was told it ran when parked and after learning so much from the forum ive run into a wall. The accelerator micro switch is gone completely and they had a push button to start it but now after countless reading and finally getting it to turn over and smoke like a siv sif civ I dunno you undertand!! anyways it wont stayyyyyy running is this cause the micro switch is gone? cause I think they connected the wires so it thinks it always engaged.

doing compression test tonight

not sure about fuel

have spark

don't know how to check points or timing.

im doing all this with the directional lever bypassed cause the base plate is broke and thanks to yall I got the service manual and figured out how to see if the ole girl runs!

If you get your engine running the microswitch being bypassed will not cause it to stop.

When was the last time that cart ran? If it's been a while you are going to need to flush everything out with fresh gas and clean out the carburetor and fuel pump. Old gas gets thick quicker than people think. If it's been over a year then chances are your fuel system is gummed up.

You manual will tell you how to do this. It will also tell you how to get that thing timed up.
