Re: Need fuel
what year? might be fuel pick up in tank is plugged or you just need to get the fuel system primed. did you make sure the vaccum holes in reed plate are open?

Re: Need fuel
You need a check valve on the fuel pickup line at the bottom of the tank. Also the line needs to be primed. I use an outboard fuel primer bulb on my carts. It is useful at times. If you do not have a check valve you can get one from Dennis Kirk for $4.95 (last time I bought one). If prime is not a problem the next thing is the vacuum passage from the crankcase ti the fuel pump is not open and does not actuate the fuel pump. Put a small amount of fuel in the plug hole, replace the plug and try to start. If the engine runs it may prime itself. Good luck!

Re: Need fuel
I too am thinking like Twe45 in that maybe the fuel pump is not working.
The fuel pump is part of the carburetor and runs of of alternating pulses from the crankcase that get to the carb from a small passage in the intake manifold. For this to work all the gaskets and such have to have the hole and be installed correctly. Its starts as a small hole on the reed plate. I have heard of some gaskets not having the holes or in some cases they can be installed wrong so the holes don't align. The 82+ carts have a external fuel pump so they don't have the passage in the intake, just a nipple close to the reed plate. |

Re: Need fuel
You can convert to an electric pump too. There are a lot of posts about how to do it if you do a forum search.
