Default New carb

I ordered a new throttle cable for my trike and also took a look at the carb i was going to rebuild. It had a lot of play in the shafts and ws in overall poor shape. I ordered a knockoff carb from ebay for 75.00. Has anyone had any experience with these? Im hoping it will get me by. Its not like this cart is going to see heavy use. I have used some of these knock of carbs before on my honda atc's and they seem to work fine. I can get them for a little more than what a good carb kit costs. Last time i ordered some i ordered a half dozen and havent needed another one yet from the stock i got.

Default Re: New carb

Is this a diaphragm carb (Tillotson) or a bowl and float one (Walbro)?

If its the Tillotson the individual parts are still available and not terribly expensive. They also had a really good design where the shafts were much softer than the body so usually only the shafts wear.

If its the walbro style I think parts are much harder to find and more expensive.

I have had no experience with these after market carburetors, not much help, I do prefer, rebuilding the original Tillotson, that is on my cart. as 73eldo said, the parts are still relatively easy to come by. Keep us posted, let us know about quality and fit, as well as how your cart runs with it. Good luck
