HD and Columbia timing
I made what I call a timing stop to make timing easier and faster. It is a take off of a tool I used on two cycle motor cycles of the 1960"s. If you don't have much to do make yourself one from an old spark plug with the guts removed. The 1 5/8 measurement is close enough for most folks. If you make one just verify where the timing dimple is when the flywheel stops. When that is checked you are home free. You only need the tool when the point plate setting has been moved for some reason or just checking on a newly purchased machine.
