Only runs when jumpstarted
I have a 78 H.D. gas. It will only run when I jump start it. I replaced the battery, voltage reg., ground cable, and the start/gen, same thing. It will run until it the motor stops after I let off the throttle, as long as I stay on the gas it will run like normal. Any help appreciated. Thank you in advance

Where are you attaching the jump off leads? If you are not attaching the leads across the battery the problem may be the start solenoid. Try a lead across the large terminals on the start relay. If it tries to start, see if you get 12 volts on the small terminals when you press the foot feed. Or it may be wired wrong or a loose ground on the start solenoid or just a broken wire.
