I'll share what a wise farmer told me when we talked about using my John Deere 318 and blade to move a gravel pile:

"Don't try to move it all at once"

I found that to be pure genius.

Yep, I'm going to place some weight in the rear and I have chains. If that doesn't work, I'll be selling it shortly after.

I have a jakes long travel kit with a receiver hitch on the front. I was trying to think of any way to find a plow or similar apparatus for moving snow that would slide into the receiver.

Hey Big Ed, Looks good. I just scored a yamaha blade for my cart. Can you show us how you attached it to the under carriage. Thanks

Thanks!

The key is to have the mounting plate with the plow setup. I would hate to have to fabricate one. I was lucky to find a complete setup. As you'll see, the mounting plate is made of some seriously thick metal. It's attached by to the cart by U-bolts around the frame rails. The toughest part of the installation was making sure the mounting plate was in the center of the cart. I held it to the frame with a floor jack, measured about 20 times and re-adjusted it until I found center and made sure the plate was straight as well. I then outlined the frame rails and holes with a Sharpie. Placement of the rear u-bolts is important. I drilled the holes in the mounting plate just in front of the frame cross member so when plowing it won't move backwards. Then again, we haven't received snow just yet, so I haven't tested it.

Off hand, what you model buggy are you mounting it on? When you get it installed, post some pics.

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks! Ed

No snow in Eastern NY. All of the snow is in the western part of the state. Glad all of the snow missed us!
