Those are the original shocks. I had to make a new retainer clip for one of them. I just took them apart and painted them up. The lift kits and tires I bought as a package from someplace in Virginia. The paint job and diamond plating were favors and beer.

Very nice work! Paint looks really good. I also like the painted shocks, nice touch. I'm trying to figure out what the front and rear bumper came off of. Looks good.

Re: Pics of Father In Laws 81 G1
B&S Fabrication in Lowell, IN made the front bumper. I made a template of the front end plastic. Then we literally bent the bumper to match up with it. then he welded it up. I made the back. I just notched the tubing with a hole saw and welded it up. The lift kit and tires cost a little less than 400 bucks. This originally had 60lbs of cyclinder compression and wouldn't run and the body was painted with a can of green spray bomb. A new piston kits, seals and gaskets and it fired right up. I ripped it almost completely down to the frame and put it back together. Needless to say, my father in law had a smile from ear to ear. He said he's only going to drive it on Sundays now.

Looks good Dave. Great job. I have an engine going in next week for a freshening up. The thing smokes bad. Guess I'll get it completley done then it should last a long time or until these guys talk me into a big block.
