Default 81 g1 gas yam

Hello everyone, i was driveing my g1 and it started to bog down and it stopped and i started to start it and it backfired so loud and i towed it home and noticed a ground coil wire broke and i repard it and started it and it sounds like i blew the muffler gasket ? Real loud, is it normal to blow the gasket up? When the coil wires get lose? Backfireing? I just hope i did not miss the piston up?

Take the muffler off, spark plug out, belt off, and spin the engine by hand. Shine a flash light into the exhaust flange and watch the piston move. If it binds, stop. If you see broken parts, stop. If it's smooth and looks good, you might be ok.

If it backfired, it could have blown out the exhaust flange gasket. Or it could have blown a hole in the muffler, if the muffler was rusty.
