G29A PTV-EFI Engine Control Unit
I am in the process of modifying my Yamaha G29A with help from Plowmans.
I understand that this cart has a built in Engine Control Unit which will restrict engine rpm and so it cannot achieve the same performance as the non-EFI G29, even if you delete the governor. Does anyone know if there is a mod for the ECU which will remove the ECU rev limit? I will wait and see where I get to with the Plowmans mods before doing anything further, but am interested to understand what might be possible. slobdiddy |

Re: G29A PTV-EFI Engine Control Unit
I am interested in this as well. I am shopping for a new cart right now.
I would like the EFI if there are ways around the ECU limit but I would take a Carb if not. One thing I want for sure is the 2015 and current dana style transaxle. So I guess a 2015 or 2016 Carb cart could be a beast. |

I don't think anyone or company has attempted to increase the limiter built into the ecu yet. Not sure if they will either. If you want the most performance like mentioned above go for the carb 15 or 16 cart that has all the good upgrades

Re: G29A PTV-EFI Engine Control Unit
Im getting quoted right now a 15 G29 Drive with the Carb.
Jakes long travel, rear wheel spacers, 23 inch tires and 12 inch wheels, long top, rear flip seat kit. Waiting to here back on the price. I talked to Don Plowman today and that was his recommendation as well. 2015 or 2016 with carb. Those years also give you the more desirable dana style rear trans-axle. |

That is correct. 2012.5 the carts got the updated pedals, better clutches, and also the first year the efi was released. 2015 is the better transaxle with the brakes externally. Also I believe now they have service hour meters installed under the seat somewhere.
