Default Got a G2 for a friend... now how to make it faster...?

I'm new to carts guys so how can we fix the gov or turn it up so this G2 will be faster? He does not need it to run too fast but 19-20 would be nice. Wants a little more grunt for hills maybe...

He says he does not want to go crazy or spend $$ but wants to know how to make it a little faster. Its about 9-10 mph now.

you can totally bypass the governor like the link shows, or just tighten the 10mm nut down as far as it will go.

Thanks guys we will maybe get to it tomorrow. I took the Yamaha emblem off the front because its lost all it chrome.... I'll clean it up in the blast cabinet (yes I do plastic all the time in there just have to have the right media) and paint a 100% stainless paint. I'll post pics when done.

OK dumb question Jeff but if we just tighten the nut down some but not all the way ..
Do we have to worry about over rev?

His wife will drive this more than him and not sure she has a "ear" for over revving....? I have a new tach we can use to set it so she can't so is this a way she can get more power without hurting this? What is the max rev we want to see??

Thanks.... we will see. I was reading the other gov bypass link and someone said 4000 rpm... another said 5000-5500 rpm so I will check it to see what it is stock maybe 3600 rpm?? Then turn it down and check it. Also if we don't allow the carb to open all the way we can limit it that way too.

Old story.. when my son was 3... I would let him drive my slot cars but glued a stack of Popsicle sticks under the trigger and as he got better I would take off another stick till he could drive good then remove another.... Maybe we can do that for her and just use a 1x2's under the gas pedal then when she learns how to ear rev it take them off...HA!

There ya go..... Redneck Rev Limiter! evil_smile-416.gif

LOL, I'm not sure what the max RPM is, I totally disabled my governor and I beat the hell out of it last summer in the mountains,
I would just turn the nut in 3/4 of the way and let them drive it and adjust from there, Unless she is going full throttle down hill she won't hurt anything.

I believe that the G2 has an electronic rev limiter. There shouldn't be a problem...
