Restored G29 needs lowering
Just wanted to say hi and post up some before and after pics of my recent purchase. Bought a used cart that was a personal use cart (not a rental)
Just tore down my 2009 G29 gasser and cleaned/painted everything. Here is a short list of whats been done so far. 1. Painted GM Carbon Flash Metallic 2. 12" wheels w/low pro tires 3. ground up cleaning/painted 4. back seat w/HD springs 5. rear and side view mirrors 6. much more to come.... Any thoughts on the best way to lower it would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to go maybe an inch in the front and inch and a half in the rear |

Re: Restored G29 needs lowering
I dont have any great ideas because cutting the springs will totally eliminate all suspension travel, it will ride so rough your next question will be "anyone know a good chiropractor?". The front struts are unique to the suspension design, i dont know what else would fit in there.

Re: Restored G29 needs lowering
The only thing I can find is an idea of cutting off the original shock mounts off and re welding them higher up on the frame. Not sure if anyone has done this but i'd love to hear back from someone that has.

Re: Restored G29 needs lowering
About the only way, without destroying the camber is to cut the spindle bracket off the shock/cushion. Be very carefull of bracket alighnment before rewelding! Also be carefull of the "drop", I went 2" on a G22 (very simular to a G29) and I could only use 10" rim's with low pro's, the 12" and low pro's wpould rub. Good luck

Nice lookin cart just the way it sits! I could be wrong but tire rub might be an issue if you go lower especially with riders on the rear seat. Your new HD rear springs should settle down a bit in a few months.

Re: Restored G29 needs lowering
Good points! I'll definitely wait a few months to attempt this project in case they do settle. Im busy with a move from Iowa to North Carolina anyway so life is BUSY.
