Default Few questions from a newbie

I have a 97 G16 cart that I use at the track. Just had some engine work done and it runs really well. Looking for best place to get rear shocks and wheels/tires. I really like the look of the 12" wheels. Just wanted to see who has the best deal on stuff. Thanks in advance.

Ok, Got cart out and we hit 31 MPH yesterday. Question on shocks. This thing needs them on the rear. The guy that did the engine work said to make the rear solid. Im not sure Im interested as this will be used at the Dragstrip as a pit vehicle more than anything. Anyone have recommendations on shocks? Also heard that 4 wheeler shocks may be an option? Im taking the cart apart today to get started on the frame cleanup and taking shocks off. With how fast this thing is, I would think keeping it lower would make it safer. Thanks again for the board.

In the past I have used auto shocks with good results......Find something with the correct bolt up and travel .....chances are it will be for a fairly small car. Napa can find ya somethin! Personally, I dislike solid rearends.

Jakes is not a site sponsor that i know of,but I have used (on my car builds and customer car builds) and recommended them to everyone. Basicly, you cut off the old coil spring and install the new (heavyer) coils with special collars. There farely soft to start, but when you get a load on them they quite stiff. Or you could just build some upper shock "drop" mounts, like when you install a lift kit. Good luck. Why no pictures? Later dave

The cart does not have shocks on rear now. It has struts. The guy said they shocks were done. The issue I have is obviously now the ride is more rigid. Im going to put 12" wheels on the cart with low pro tires because it is fast and I want the stable ride.

Yamaha's have the coil over shocks/struts so you will need to go back with something similar, since they carry weight I would think a standard shock will not work.
