Default g2 motor into a g1?

Will a g2 motor fit into a g1 1982? What mods need to be done or a simple swap?

I'm sure you could make it fit, but you will loose reverse unless you swap the rear end as well.

I'm not sure that would be much of an upgrade, and probably not worth the trouble. The G1 engine, IMO, has more power than the G2.

Just curious, why would you want to do this?

Anything can be put in anything with enough changes. The question is, "Is it worth it?"

I ask because I'm selling the motor and a buyer was asking.

Sure you can but I forget how a G1 mounts I doubt it is the same. You will lose reverse as stated. Best to swap the whole engine/cradle/trans if you can.
