G9 Windshield Dimesnsions

Can someone do a dimension check for me on a G9 windshield? Just bought a flip down for mine only to find that the windshield is too wide for my cart.

the windshield measures 40" wide

my cart measures 37" wide

Do I have some non-standard front supports on my cart or did I get sent the wrong windshield??

There are many different styles of roof support brackets out there for G9s, its hard to find a perfect fitting windshield without paying for "custom made". Just look at the windshield and roof brackets on mine, there are at least a dozen different styles with different dimensions. This is on my G2 (same as G9), my G9 has different brackets (that are also different than yours). Did you get the style with "wings" on the side like mine? Im not too sure yamaha even offered a roof on these old models (yamaha parts system doesnt show one), its a "shot in the dark" on what the correct size windshield is, depends on the roof supports.

thanks for the info GTECH! I figured it was something along those lines.

mine are completely different than yours, mine aren't straight all the way up to the wings, there is a transition bout a foot below the mounting wings.

where I bought the windshield from doesn't give exact dimensions.... so I couldn't verify the size.

Looks like i'll have to try to reduce the size of the window I have....

sounds like a good topic for a STICKY post to warn others about G9's various size front windshield mounts...
