At all purchased the power kit from carts parts plus sure seems like a waist of $200 new sheaves new belt new main clutch last year I had a lot of hope when the package arrived and saw the belt said severe duty bad a$$ belt on the box I've invested about $9000 in this cart I have to wonder what's next I purchased a brand new 2015 Yamaha drive gas last week and wow you can feel the front tires lift when you take it up steep hills

What are you looking to get out of it? Maybe you have a clutch problem? I have a G16 and a G8. I can tell you the G16 pulls quite a bit better than the G8. Top end is faster too.

Your new Yamaha is going to be waayyy better than the G16. It's brand new with all new technology. I read about the score on the new one...awesome deal!

Wheres the huge technological difference? A few more CCs displacement? Motor- same (minus a few CCs). Transaxle- same. Carb- same. Suspension- Ydra wins. Frame- i like the older frame better. Ydra is a few pounds lighter due to extensive use of plastic & plastic "clip-on" stuff instead of bolts- not really a plus to me. Where the Ydra really shines is the suspension, much tighter steering feel (a big plus for street use, not a big deal off-road).

Well there ya go. I don't know sh1t. Never drove a new one so I have no idea what it's like. I guess I automatically assume that new is always going to better than old. I bet that new Yamaha will spin circles around both of my carts.

If anything the wider belt that you recieved should have given you better power on takeoff. Have you tried calling the seller and see if he/they can walk you through some of the possible reasons your disatisfied. Ive always had awesome service and tech support with don at plowmans. I can remeber one saturday he stayed on the phone with me for hours helping me install his performnace kit, everything from all the jetting changes in the carb, bypassing the governor, adjusting all the throttle cables perfectly and even how to adjust the valves for proper tolerance. The man is a class act. No way i could ever be so patient and listen to a customer for that long on the weekend on my day off. He will continue to recieve my praise and business and all my friends business in the future. One reason i promote his name so much on these forums.

Thanks I'm thinking I got a great deal on the 2015 I know I did it to myself on the 02 big lift big tires no more big hills I guess I had a 2000 g16 stock cart for awhile had no problems with hills at all I'm not really going off-roading but there is a few paved streets that the cart is a no go with more than one person on it but man on flat ground it's flat out to fast for full throttle gps says 33mph more than I need when I purchased this cart I took it in and had it serviced they replaced clutch they said it needed it so I shouldn't have any problems on that one but I never used the cart after that we started tearing it apart as far as the new cart it was really good timing for that guy to win it and me looking on Craigslist I've seen a lot of 07-10 for around $3500 never 2015 gas cart and I get the 4 year warranty the dealer said it like I'm the original purchaser I can't believe the dealer didn't buy it from the guy

I know I should have purchased from plowman I did talk to him on the phone really nice but I'm disabled and couldn't get anyone at the time to help me my son works construction and he needed someone to go over a check list and I couldn't do it so I read the forums and jumped the gun and ordered the part from carts parts plus I guess I was expecting too much it's probably not the parts it's me might have to rethink this or sale the thing....

Have you checked the condition of the engine in that cart? Maybe it's needing a rebuild. The G16 wasn't really known to be a real powerful cart, but with good clutches and a belt it should climb most hills. Maybe it's down on compression, or maybe the cam is worn? Old cart = old engine. Might be the cause?

I don't know what kind of performance you were looking for, but maybe an engine upgrade is what you need? If you already have a lift, you should be able to fit a Vtwin in there. I bought a used Vtwin from a member here for $400, a clutch for $200, and made my own cradle. Man what a difference in torque. It's hard not to peel the tires every time.
