G1 starting problem gas engine
ok,I have a g1, electric motor will start, but gas engine will not turn on. Carb is new, battery is new,has new gaskets (from previous owner) there is fuel in the line, so seems like pump is working. I need trouble shooting help. Give me some ideas, what I need to check. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the motor have spark at the plug?

Re: G1 starting problem gas engine
First of all, you should probably stick to one thread for answers to you issues. More than one is impossible to follow. You seem to have three threads about the same issue. Pick a thread, and stick with it please. You will get a lot more answers that way.
The plug doesn't spark "about every 2-3 seconds" It should spark once every engine revolution. |

Re: G1 starting problem gas engine
Ok, it might be right since I can feel the air when the starter gen spins the motor. In the even that it wasn't sparking as much as it should. I would think the spark would cause the gas to burn. Even if it misfired. But it's not even doing that.

Have you checked compression?

Re: G1 starting problem gas engine
No, I don't have a compression tool. I'll have to buy or borrow one tomorrow.

Re: G1 starting problem gas engine
A fouled plug wont necessarily work in the engine, even tho the spark jumps the gap when not installed (just ask any 2-stroke dirtbike rider if they have an extra plug, bet they do).

Re: G1 starting problem gas engine
Ok, gonna get a plug just in case. A compression tool, none of these local places have it in stock. I'll check though. Thanks

Re: G1 starting problem gas engine
I bought a new plug and gapped it at .025,, still same issue. I'm trying to get a compression tool. To check compression next.
