G2 w/mods still no top end
Hey guys I'm getting pretty frustrated and looking for some advise.
G2 gas Jakes 6" lift - a arm type 23x10.50x12 rhox wheels/tires FULL Plowmans power kit, High flow muffler Rejetted carb Torque clutch Running 93oct fuel Mobil1 synth engine oil Mobil1 synth diff fluid Governor nut turned in most of the way The cart is great, but my top speed is only 16.5 which I feel is WAY to low. Also, I was hoping the plowmans kit would have given me more than it did. I noticed No difference with high flow muffler and rejetting carb. The clutch is great and got me most of my torque back, still slightly struggles up the bigger hills. Is there something I'm missing? Everything I read says on 22/23 inch tires this cart should run 26 mph roughly. I love the cart but am getting frustrated, any ideas? |

I think the G2 has a rev limiter. Not sure how much that comes into play. You won't run 26 mph without the gov nut turned all the way in or the gov arm drilled out...

Put a G9 ignitor in it. Like Dave said the G2 ignitor has a rev limiter in it.

Uhh, yeah. Try fully tightening the governor if you expect full speed. You can have all known upgrades, but the governor regulates road speed, not rpm.

You need to bypass the governor to get the max gains with the plowmans kit.

Re: G2 w/mods still no top end
So I should try a g9 igniter and governor bypass huh. The plowmans kit is great and the exhaust isn't much louder, more deep if anything so it sounds great, was just hoping to get as much out of the engine as I can until it gets big blocked

You can by pass the gonenor on a G2 but your not going to get anymore RPMs until you swap out the ignitor.

Re: G2 w/mods still no top end
The exhaust is a free flowing design. The oem exhaust is notorious for stopping up over time and robbing power. Bypassing the governor for increased rpms is what the jets help with. More rpms, better flow from the new exhaust is where the jets come in to flow more fuel. Overall the cart should run smoother and cooler. The clutching will get you back some of the power the wheel tire kit robbed.

A G2 ignitor will shut your motor down no mater what you have done with your engine, muffler, spring, govenor or carb. At a certain rpm it will stop the spark. Loudlow where are you lacated? I will send you an ignitor.

I'm in MA - how much do you want for the ignitor? Seems like an ignitor is the missing piece to the puzzle here!
