New member looking at G1
Greetings,
I've got the bug for a cart, & found this G1 street legal 2-stroke. There is not much info in the ad, I will call on it tonight. Can anybody identify the engine & lift from the pics? Does the engine look stock except for the expansion chamber? Any idea of value? (southern Cali) Any other observations or things I should ask about? Thanks, Ray |

Hi Ray, welcome to BGW!!
It's hard to see any detail, your pics are too small. The cart looks cool...what is the asking price? |

Hi Ron,
No price given, he is looking for a trade. I Have a 2002 Suzuki DR 650 I might offer him. I know the pics suck, but I have no Idea what the stock engine looks like, & I am curious about the expansion chamber. Did someone make one for the stock engine? |

Re: New member looking at G1
I agree...Pic's are to small to see alot of detail. I agree looks like the stock engine. That expansion pipe looks well fabbed. My question...What do you think your Dr650 is worth, then we might better gauge the trade value for that G1 (with better pic's and some more info from the seller). Good luck on your venture.

Re: New member looking at G1
Guys,
Thanks for the response. The bike I am thinking about trading is worth about 2,500, but I haven't had any luck selling it. This cart looks like a good desert toy for the wife, and being street legal would be cool to trailer behind the motorhome. |

Re: New member looking at G1
i am getting an 84 G1 with a 4 inch lift (bent mount, easy for me to fix) and the motor has just been completely rebuilt (crank, rod, piston, topend) the motor isnt even in yet. I am picking it up for 400 bucks

Re: New member looking at G1
Kman,
Sounds like one heck of a deal... I have seen a lot of lifted, gas EZ-go's selling for 3-4 thousand locally. Anything street legal starts around 2,000, at least here in California. I haven't seen many Yamaha's for sale however. Were they "junk" compared to the EZ-go's or just not as many of them made? I am new to these, and looking for a desert toy for the wife, and a shuttle for the motorhome. I talked to the guy last night, & he said the motor is original, but built up a bit. He didn't say how or by who. He said the lift and engine work was done before he got it. |
