First post, first cart, first question
Hello to all,
Just signed up since I bought my first cart as a "project". I believe it's an 80 or 81 G1. Serial number starts with J10. It's a gas cart I picked up for my 14 year old daughter to get around at motocross events. Yes she is a racer!! It hasn't been used in over a year and I'm trying to get it going again. I first got it started without the drive belt since it had been cut off when I picked it up. It would not roll with the belt on! After cleaning the carb it starts and seems to rev up good. It only starts in forward right now, I have the reverse solenoid ordered. But when I put the drive belt on it will not start, the gen spins but no engine start. It seems like it wants to go but will only move forward maybe a foot then the clutch disengages. I have also replaced the plug, air filter and fuel filter. Fuel pump seems to be working, filter is full. Any suggestions or advice appreciated. |

Do a compression test on it. Low compression will make starting difficult.
