Axle drain and fill plug
I'm looking for the axle fill plug on my new to me 2008 YDR gas cart. I've been under the cart with a flashlight and mirror and have also looked online at some parts breakdowns but I don't see the fill plug. I do see a plug that is located lower on the axle assembly but I'm thinking this is the drain plug. Any help or pictures would be appreciated.

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
You will need to remove the black.plastic golf bag well liner. 2x 10mm bolts, and a bunch of reusable push-clips. There is a access hole below the bagwell liner.

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
The plug is on the driver side of the transaxle where the shaft goes to the wheel and it is facing straight up . Takes a 8mm Allen wrench just a the drain plug.

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
Thanks guys I found it, also found that I don't need to remove the bagwell as the cart has a Jakes 6" lift which makes it easy to get to. The parts breakdown on the Yamaha site calls both of the plugs drain plugs which can be confusing and made me think that there had to be another fill plug somewhere.

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
The bottom drain plug is magnetic that catches shavings.

With the 6” Jake’s lift kit you will need to elevate the transaxle to level to get the correct amount of lube back in. I have used jack stands or backed it up on the ramps on my trailer.

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
Ahh, lift kit, that makes it easier. Just follow the advice above to get the axle level when filling.

44oz of yamalube transaxle lube with friction modifiers is what's recommended

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
Dbmachine I am trying to figure out why we come up with two different amounts for the gear lube in the transaxle. According to the Owner’s / Operators Manual that was given to me when I bought my cart I come up with a larger amount of gear oil than you specify. In my manual it states to use (1.85 quarts total) this would be 1.85 X 32 oz = 59.2oz. When I jacked up the rear of my cart to get the transaxle level to refill/check the oil level, the 59.2oz amount of gear lube is at the specified mark. So how did you come up with the 44oz quantity and am I doing something wrong or is there a difference between our G29 YDRA carts or setups.

Re: Axle drain and fill plug
Service manual calls for 44oz in both the gas and electric carts. Cgtech confirmed for me with the service manual from the dealership.
