Default G2 help ASAP!

Hey guys so I I ally got around to replacing the front clutch on my gas g2.
The clutch I ordered through Amazon from Golf Cart King llc.
First thing I noticed was the outer case was different, only had three screws holding it on. Figured it was an updated design. Then I took that case off and the inside weights are ENTIRELY different from my stock clutch.
Figured again, updated design. The new clutch didn't come with a new bolt so i reused my stock one.
Once I used my puller bolt to pull the inner piece, I installed the new clutch assembly onto the tapered shaft. The issue is, when I tighten the bolt, the clutch seems to be contacting the engine and won't turn. It's not over tightened, once it's snug it doesn't spin. I even pulled it off and put the stock one back on to check for clearance and it doesn't contact at all.
Most websites I check seem to sell this exact clutch I Recieved so I bribe it's correct.
Am I supposed to run a washer as a spacer or something? I'm in a huge jamb and have the Golf Cart Rodeo event next weekend at camp and I need to figure this out SOON!! Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys

Its likely not a yamaha clutch or its a much newer model if it is. Clutches come with different spacing to the taper, that seems to be the issue you have. The taper can be inside the clutch pulley, or outside it, that moves the clutch closer or away from the engine. If you have the wrong one you need to send it back likely. The G2/9 the taper is very close to the block so the taper has to stick out from the clutch to give clearance to the block.

Of course the issue here is the drive belt and the starter belt will not align properly if the clutch has a different offset and you manage to get it mounted.

Another clutch type is for a 1" shaft, it will have no taper and will have a key way in there too. Stock carts rarely use this, no yamaha do that I know of (stock carts).

I have worked on every model of yamaha cart commonly sold in the US, they all use the same taper on the crank, no straight shaft with keys.
