G22 Lift Kit opinions
What lift kits do you guys like for the G22? Will be looking to purchase a 6 inch and need opinions on construction and off road stability.
Have a family member that purchased a 2005 G22 and wanting it lifted at least 6 inches with some good off road wheels and tires. Does not have to be fancy, just well constructed and heavy duty. Been a little while since I installed and worked with these lift kits... And never had my hands on a G22 either. G16 is the latest I've tore apart. Looking forward to it but would appreciate opinions from you guys. |

Re: G22 Lift Kit opinions
Sprid, good ta hear from ya!!
That green car that I did in the G8 club was a 05 G22. Its a neat car, but I never did like the Jake's spindle lift. It was ok but if it was my car, I wouldn't be happy with it. It was a 4" lift, and has the same ground clearance as my car, except for the taller tires! My build started on page 444, post 4432, in G8!! |

Re: G22 Lift Kit opinions
With the G22 "strut/shock" configuration, Jakes spindle lift is a great option. I have never had any problem with them. But, I have never installed a long travel kit on a G22, so I have no good or bad to say about them. Good luck on your build Sprid

Re: G22 Lift Kit opinions
Thanks Mike and Dave. I'm not sure about the spindle type lifts. Seems they would put quite a bit of strain on the pin bushings and cause wear over time. Although they do appear the easiest to install and give good ground clearance in the front. Looks like the G22 is its own model. Not sure what the frame design difference is between it and the G16 type models.
Has anyone had any experience with this lift from Everything Carts? |

Re: G22 Lift Kit opinions
Sorry, never put a long-travel on a G22, just G16s. The kingpins/bushings are pretty beefy in a G22, compared to a G16. Never had any trouble with the spindle kits i used on G22s.

Re: G22 Lift Kit opinions
Thanks for the info. G16's is as far up as I have went also. Good to know about the kings and bushings. That was a concern for me.
