Default G14 clutch

So my G14 will only take off on flat ground. I'm sure that it is the original clutch but I don't think a just new belt will help that much. I'm also wondering if I should put a torque kit in as well. Suggestions please

Look at the ramp shoes on the secondary. Wiggle both clutches and see how much play is in either one. You may need to change the spring in the secondary and rebuild the primary with new pins, weights & bushings. Really need to just examine everything real good. Also simply changing the belt with a new heavy duty double cog Kevlar belt could help dramatically depending on how worn your belt is now. Measure the width of the belt. I think new belts are 1 1/8' wide and if your belt measures less than that then it's most likely worn out.

Thanks ordered a heavy duty belt going to try it. The secondary looks fine and although the primary is no doubt worn it works good.

New is 1 3/16 wide and yamaha lists 1" as replacement width however with a lifted cart it will bog badly by the time you get to 1". The kevlar belt is 1 1/4 it works nice with worn clutches, really nice belt I have one. You should check your tension cable I think it has one, and your motor mounts, that will cause it to bog on takeoff. You can also put a umax secondary spring in, its a yamaha part and not that expensive, its for utility carts, it helps a lot with out going to a huge spring aftermaket some of which do not work well and are a #### to install. I'd also put a spacer behind the secondary. That belt and a umax should make a huge difference, but if your mounts have a problem or a weight is broken in the primary it wont work right....or if the engine has an issue, etc.

I got my severe duty belt in and when I went to put it on the motor had a lot of movement in it. I got to looking and pulled one of the rear motor mounts off and they were worn to nothing. They new ones should be here tomorrow. I didn't feel any slack in the front mounts should I replace them as well? Also the tension cable is only a couple of years old.

They look ok I'll just wait and see after I get the back ones on today. The rubber on the front one look great but there was almost no rubber left on the back ones.
