Default Oil pump housing question

I'm doing the crank seals and the housing is just completely full of and covered in oil. Obviously the seal is toast but is this thing supposed to be bone dry or is there supposed to be some grease on the gear inside? Im going to clean it up but don't know if there is supposed to be grease anywhere on or in it. Also, what holds it on? I wasn't able to get it off at first after taking all of the bolts that I thought were holding it on so I went to the fan side and pulled off the flywheel using an impact and when I came back to the clutch side and it was off. I just want to make sure that it came off naturally due to the vibrations from the impact and not because something broke.

Remove the oil injector and throw it in the trash. Start premixing your gas to guarantee the motor is getting oil. Problem solved!

So would it be as simple as just not putting this housing and gear back on or does it need to be there? I've read that it holds the seal in and that it doesn't. Which is it? I have everything out right now so it wouldn't kill me to just not put it back on. Also the oil to gas ratios are all over the place. What is the right ratio.

When I deleted mine I removed the plastic gear and the pump. I then made a small plastic plate to cover the hole where the pump was. Then put the two aluminum pieces back on the side of the case to help hold the seal in. You don't need to remove anything but I did because I was replacing the seals. Stock oil injector will run between 300:1 and 150:1. Start premixing your gas 100:1
