any one use there cart in the winter? any thing to make it run better in winter/cold ? do you re jet it for the cold?

G16A here first time its been real cold all winter and it starts up but it surges really bad and back fires put fresh gas with seafoam and it still does it.

thinking it might be to lean now from the cold ?

run my g9 and g29 when it was around freezing... have to choke them a bit to warm them up then seem fine... although the g29 still has turf tires on so the kids get tired of pushing it... ha ha...

I do run the ethanol free gas... have see posts stating that the premium fuel runs better in the cold but can't confirm....

haven't run them in the 20 deg range.. now that there is 2 ft of snow on the ground I don't think my lifted g9 will even get very far out of the shed....

good luck

I run 87 non ethanol in it i did put few gallons of 91 non ethanol in it yesterday I wouldn't think 10 degrees difference in temp would make that much of different 20's when i went to start it and ran really rough,

used it in the low 30's and it ran fine drove it around for couple of hours ,

now what it does it when i left off the gas it takes a few seconds for motor to quit and it never did that before. normal left off gas and it shuts off and you dont even hear motor quit

do you know if your choke is functioning properly?check your plug?you should not have to rejet in my opinion. I have a g9 and have run below zerowith out any performance loss. I have plowmans performance kit which has different jet, exhaust and air box mods+ primary and secondary clutches, also governor bypass. I don't know your plans for cart but if you have lift and bigger tires and go off road call Plowmans and ask for Don if not available leave message and wait for him to call you back tell him what you want to use the cart for and he will set you up

My G14 has Plowman's performance kit with a larger jet . I do not have to use the choke for it to start in colder temps. I use mine for hunting so it is in the winter for most hunting. I just enlarged the stock jet more than the one plowman sent and it still starts great with no choke in below freezing temps.

I never use the choke on mine, but our lowest temps (when i will still go outside) is mid/low 20's. Hey, we very rarely see the teens around here. Right now we are seeing lows in the high 30's/low 40's, always runs good as soon as it first gets going. I just turn key on, mash pedal to the floor for about 5 seconds, then let pedal up almost all the way, it will start coming to life with doing that two times max. Its intake & exhaust is totally stock
