I just saw a post on that the other day some one did a step by step on painting. only problem with just scuffing and painting. You paint won't stick to the plastic very well and will be easy to peel down the road

I am on my second Travel Trailer and there a lot of plastic components and surfaces exposed to the weather and sun. Shortly after getting our present trailer I painted anything that was plastic on the roof with Krylon Fusion paint for plastic. The trailer is three years old now and the paint his holding up well. The point is if you properly prepare the plastic body parts first and use the Krylon paint for a primer coat. Use either a neutral color or one that will complement your chosen finished paint color you might have good results also. Good Luck.

You will need to sand until all the glossiness is gone then you will still need to clean and primer

Go to the Design Center forum, and click on the body-paint forum, or click here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/body-paint/.

Some of our smartest paint guys have posted a lot of useful info there. The one major point I picked out was to use an "adhesion promoter."

Yamaha's are painted with automotive style paint. Just prep the paint and shoot on new paint. No adheision promoter needed.

You mean that I went to all the trouble to find adhesion promoter, and didn't need it Dave?

Thank you that's what I thought. I did look for that answer in the paint and body section but could not find it.
