G1 Fuel Issue
Need help! G1 cart runs great providing fuel line is primed (gas in filter). Day later engine won't run unless fuel line is primed again. New fuel pump doesn't
seem to have enough power to pick up fuel from tank after sitting over over night. Appreciate any help. Thanks. |

Re: G1 Fuel Issue
Have you flushed out tank at all. I picked up a g1 that was acting like yours and I removed tank and dumped out to find a large old piece of electrical tape in tank that was blocking suction lines at time. Make sure you have a new filter on as well.

Re: G1 Fuel Issue
Check all line connections as well, including cap gasket, tank grommets etc. my one cart has the primer ball inline but only use it if it has sat for a really long time just to make sure lines are ready to go. Good luck !

Re: G1 Fuel Issue
The only time I ever had to prime mine was if I removed the carb or drained the lines. I used to take an air line and put my hand over the open fuel filler and pump compressed air into the tank. It would inflate the sides a bit and the pressure will fill the lines and the carb. Works well.
Sounds to me like there is a leak somewhere or the fuel pickup is not fully submerged in fuel. There is a suction action once the lines are full, the fuel pump will suck plenty of fuel through the lines while cranking. So after you shut it off, the fuel should stay in the lines, some may fall back in the tank, but the bowl should be full and that should get you running, then the engine running will allow the pump to suck fuel again, filling the bowl before it runs dry. So let me understand this correctly, your problem is that every time you shut the cart off, it won't restart unless you prime the lines/carb? Slo |

Re: G1 Fuel Issue
Generally when you have fuel pump issues on the g1 it's cracked line or bad crank seals

Re: G1 Fuel Issue
My crank case gasket was bad on my g9, acted the same way, I replaced filter, gas line, fuel pump, carb and finally split the case and saw that a piece of the gasket was gone. I ordered gaskets, and crank seal, I'll put it together next week.
