Default G1 engine thread size questions

Does anyone know the thread pitch of the three holes on the fan/magneto used to pull it? As far as I can tell, the diameter is 7mm but I've tried various bolts from my limited assortment and haven't come up with the right pitch. Before I buy them I want to make sure I'm getting the right size. I have the puller - just want to make sure I don't strip out the threads from the metal plate.

I also would appreciate it if someone could provide the the diameter and pitch of the thread at the top of the special sheave puller tool used to remove the G1 clutch. I've got the means to fabricate one but just want to make sure I get it right.

Thanks for your help.

I believe 6mm is the size you are looking for.

Thanks for responding, Field6565.

Actually, the magneto holes are 7mm dia. I can screw a 7mm X 1.25 bolt into a hole (finger tight) about 3/16" before it stops. What I really need is the correct pitch, if anyone knows it, so I can go full depth and not take a chance of stripping out the holes.

pretty sure they are a 1.00 pitch if you have a gauge use various bolts from fan shroud or bolts that hold coil on one of these i think fit if i remember right and use your thread pitch gauge to check the pitch..... field is right the ones one the drive clutch are 6mm-1.0 pitch

Thanks, Spicyunicorn;

Great suggestions. And I think you're right about the pitch being 1.0. After reading your note, I had a "aha" moment and rolled up a piece of paper around a small dowel, shoved it in the hole and pressed down against the threads. It gave me a light impression which I checked against my pitch gauge. Even though the image transfer isn't perfect, it's pretty good and looks like 1.0.

Thanks again.
