The piston ring grooves have a "pin", install the rings so the ring cut out lines up with the pins. Install a piston pin reating clip on the flywheel side of the piston. Carefully slide the piston/rings into the bottom of the cylinder, making shure the "exhaust" marking on the piston faces forward to line up with the exhaust port. Pinch the rings and slide the piston far enough into the cylinder, but still allow acsess for the piston pin to be slid thru the upper rod bearing. With a helper, slide the cylinder over the studs and push the piston pin thru the rod/bearing and install the piston pin retainer. Slide the cylinder all the way down to mate with the block. Make shure to use a liberal amount of 2 cycle oil for lubrication. Install new head gasket and torque nuts to "initial-14 ft lbs then to 18 ft lbs". Hope that helped.

good right up small block but first before you do all that coat the cylinder wall with oil and slide the ring in and square it up by sliding it down a 1/4 and or 1/2 inch with the piston and check the ring gap should be .2-.4 mm you might have to file a little to get the right clearance

If you don't have one....GET A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL!!!!

If you are doing any kind of rebuild you need lots of info in that manual. It will be much more useful to you to if you have one, you'll use it more than you think. Also good to read it cover to cover to know all about your cart.

Piston Is in and new gaskets in. Piston has no slop, real smooth. Is it suppose to be pretty easy to turn over by hand?

With the spark plug out, you'll not fell any compression...with spark plug in, yes your sould feel compression while turning it over by hand.
