Default Slow cranking

Have a 84G1 2 stroke...last few times last year at race track noticed eng turning over very slow..to so slow almost can't feel or hear at..battery checks out good..even put charger on it to make sure battery had full charge..would this be starter/generator getting bad..never been changed..

Could you possibly need new brushes but if you have compression guage check compression make sure you don't have a blockage in muffler on good motor with no blockage should be 100-120 psi ish

Check your electrical connections on battery, relays, and starter/gen.

Its really common for the cables to get a bad connection usually on the battery, they can look clean and not work. The other end can also cause issues, wiring is a sore spot on yamaha when they get this old, but at least its cheap to fix. If you have full power then look at the brushes they are not that much to replace. Also on a G1 check the cables through the solenoids as well. Make sure you check any ground cable as the frame is not ground the cables are. The solenoids can go bad, but typically stop working or on a G1 it works forward not backward or opposite.
