Default Have any of you painted the aluminum frame

That holds the top on? I'd like to give my g1 a newer look and am thinking of painting it black and maybe even some roll in bed liner on the white top to make it black as well. I'm curious about how it would look.

Mothers works awesome. I have done pieces from the 70's that came up like new. If you paint roof struts make sure you use a self etching primer first for better adhesion.

Any pics? Did you hang the supports somehow? I can't figure out how to get all four sides at the same time.

Use wire thru the bolt holes to hang the pieces. Also, it's a good idea (Even though there aren't many pieces) too take a picture of the pieces assembled and then disassemble for painting. New bolts are a good idea too.

The reason I suggest the pictures is that most everyone has set up a tent with the poles at one time or another. Not as simple as we all think. Even with the instructions it can be a major endeavor.

Yeah I want to replace all bolts with marine grade bolts. This thing spent some time at the coast so a good number of them are rusty.
