Default Ride Height

Just finished Jakes 3" lift with 22" tires - install went smooth. I noticed that that the cart was not level (when looking at the back from a distance). Sure enough when I measured the distance from the floor to the top of the rear wheel well, the driver side is ¾" lower than the passenger side.

When looking underneath, there does not appear to be anything hung up and I noticed that the coil-overs are not adjustable so I am scratching my head how to adjust this ¾" height difference.

.... what looked odd was the horizontal bar (spacer) that is welded between the two round frame tubes (at rear of cart). This cross bar is not straight.. seems to bend around the transaxle. I am wondering if perhaps the frame is bent and this is what is throwing off my ride height?

Can someone confirm if their bar is straight or not? Also ... does anyone know if the heavy duty G29 shocks that most aftermarket companies are selling have adjustable spring height?

tx

The springs on the G22 are known to not be very stiff. And sagging on the driver side is from only one occupant ridding in the car in most cases. That G22 I built had the same problem. You could switch the shocks side for side, or get the Jake's after market springs to correct the problem!!

And I would straighten the panhard bar!!

I'm sure Mike is right but I want to throw this in just for the heck of it. Might not be anything remotely close to your issue.

I had an Ezgo with a Raptor 4 wheeler front end. The back end of the Ezgo was off by about 1 to 1.5 inches in the back on the driver's side. Drove me crazy! I did everything I could think of and even swapped sides with the leaf springs. The issue ended up being in the front end. One shock was out of adjustment in relation to the other one. Welded mounting brackets did not match on both sides.

So, double check your front end too. Probably not the issue but worth checking anyway.

Mike - thx - hope it's that easy. i'm going to need HD shocks someday so I'll bite the bullet on this now. BTW - the panhard is straight ... I was trying to describe the bar that is welded between the two frame tubes. I attached a picture.

Spriddle: tx - will check front end

Silly me, I thought it was a "G22" you were working on!! I think I would just momentarially loosen one side of the axle/swing arm mount bolts, to relieve any tension on that aluminum housing, then tighten them up again. And let it go at that!! Your car is way to new for me!!
