Re: Yamaha Gas vs Electric ?
I found in my searching..... Gas. up front. But you will be buying batteries in a few years...
Depends on your driving needs what you should get though. I had an electric but found I would drive it all over the woods hunting in the morning and then put it on charge. Then, when it came time to go back hunting in the evening it wasn't finished charging. I now have a gas cart. I just take off when I need to be somewhere. |

Re: Yamaha Gas vs Electric ?
I agree on the gas cart. I haven't had mine but a few weeks, but I like knowing that I can go whenever and just about however long I want to. They claim that on a full tank of gas that I could go about 150 miles. I haven't come close to testing that theory yet, but I have gone well over what I would think you would be able to go on a single charge. If you just plan on cruising the neighborhood or for shorter trips, then electric might be the way to go. From what I saw gas carts cost more up front but you don't have the cost of buying batteries every few years.

Re: Yamaha Gas vs Electric ?
I have had both on yamaha and EZGO and I will say by far best choice has been G16 gas im on my 2nd one should have never sold the first but didnt think i wanted it when i got a RZR. sold the RZR and now back to carts and my choice was EZGO electric, which ran out too fast for my liking thought it was batteries which wasnt the case so i sold the cart and got a yamaha Electric had it for less than a month and traded it for an EZGO gas. now this wasnt as bad had the power to my liking and gave me distance that I was wanting once again. after a year of maintaining it and having issues due to wear and tear i got tired of fixing it (3 year old cart had 27 hours on it when i took posession) I had enough and sold it to find my current G16 which is my 2nd. my original was a 97 and i put many miles and rode it hard and put it up wet many times and it was always there when i needed it so i wanted another go at it and bought another. I have had electrical issues due to previous owner hack job on wiring harness but other than that it runs as strong as i could ask.

Re: Yamaha Gas vs Electric ?
I say gas is way to go little more up front but iv never been a fan of shelling out 6-800 dollars for battery's every couple years and gas has better resale value in my area

Re: Yamaha Gas vs Electric ?
Which is better? Things to consider:
Gas will take you where you want to go (as long as you have gas in the tank) when you want to go. No need to wait until batteries are charged. Gas carts are easier to "soup up" for much greater speeds. As mentioned before, no costly battery replacements on a gas cart. Only a starting battery. But electrics are quiet, if that is appealing. Electrics are emission-free, if that is a concern. Which also means you can run them indoors if you have a large warehouse or other large building. |

Re: Yamaha Gas vs Electric ?
The shelf life of E10 is shorter. Ethanol is the gas attracts moisture.
