Go to vegascarts site a sponsor here. Nice pictures of an actual install .You can see how much or how little you want to fab up yourself.Go to the clone section of big blocks here for ideas on the engine itself.Cheap clones on ebay for less than $200 up to fully built vegascarts engines for $600. The clutch adapter is there should you decide to use your stock clutch. Many many threads on different ideas and problem areas.

Lots of people done that, look in clones section or members rides.

You should check the rockers a pushrod may have popped off. You can recoup some cash selling your motor its worth looking at to fix before you pull it out.

A 420 clone will have close to twice the power of the old stock engine.
