Yamaha G1 slow to completely shut-off
Not sure if this is normal but my Yamaha g1 takes about 10 seconds to completely shut off after I take foot off accelerator, this is a little annoying on the golf course. I was wondering if there is any way I can make this happen quicker.

Re: Yamaha G1 slow to completely shut-off
did you check to see if the accelerator pedal micro switch might be sticking?

No haven't checked micro-switch, how do I know if it is sticking and what do I do to correct it?

Re: Yamaha G1 slow to completely shut-off
If you can get a good view of the switch press the pedal down and then release it. If the switch is sticking it will be slow to retract or it will leave a small gap between the pedal bracket and the switch itself. If it is gummed up I would just give it quick shot of WD-40 and then press and release the pedal a few times for it to work itself in. Hope that's what your problem is cause that would be a cheap/easy fix.

Re: Yamaha G1 slow to completely shut-off
Checked and sprayed micro-switch, but seemed ok, does the butterfly valve in the exhause have anything to do with the engine shutting off, as I feel the valve stays slightly open once I take my foot off accelerator and is it this valve that determines the tune coming from the exhaust, as depending on how much I push on accelerator the cart plays a different sound???

Re: Yamaha G1 slow to completely shut-off
I don't believe that would cause the cart to not turn off. The butterfly valve is there to increase backpressure at low rpm's. It gives the cart more torque at low throttle. It is also there to work the oil pump if you still have yours connected. Most guys seem to remove them all together for better performance because the exhaust is less restrictive without them but then you have to run premix.

Re: Yamaha G1 slow to completely shut-off
Well I tried adjusting accelerator cable and ended up pulling the wire through the end connector (pedal end), ****, is there any way to fix broken cable or am I up for a new one?
